Publisher's summary

In this epic anthology of stories in the fantasy genre, you’ll come to know more about the various characters in the stories as they struggle with life’s challenges. At times, they use magic to solve their problems, or sometimes, magic becomes the problem. You’ll hear about things like:

  • Evil and good swords, blades that have a positive or negative effect on the person who wields it.
  • Miscommunication between couples that leads to tense situations and devastating events.
  • Dragons, elves, orcs, and other kinds of creatures or monsters that add flavor to the stories with their distinct race.
  • Medieval settings, weapons, tournaments, and castles.
  • Mazes and labyrinths with deadly traps and complicated challenges.
  • Secrets about magical potions, spells, and sorcery.
  • Zombies, shady beings, and monsters from the underworld.
  • Pirates, geeks, inventors, skeletons, and other awe-inspiring entities.
  • Prophecies, wars, revolutions, and stories of vengeance and justice.
  • Cultural anecdotes to Japanese, European, or Viking backgrounds.
  • Talking animals, supernatural powers, and books full of spells.
  • And much more.

Needless to say, this enormous anthology has taken the months to write, and the results show. Do yourself a favor and get caught up in a different world, a magical realm full of crazy possibilities, real dangers, and dramatic tales.

meh

Not for me. Lost interest after 3rd short story. My favorite fantasy authors are long-winded and detailed oriented. These stories couldn't hold my imagination.

Sincerely enjoyed it

I'm only halfway, but I just wanted to leave a review that I am thrilled about this book. It contains a lot of nice stories that have magic and significant weapons in them. They were pretty predictable in most cases, but I'm into that anyway.

Where do I start?

I mean, what SHOULD you put in a review about a book with 31 short stories? That's quite the content mass. So yes, first of all, get it with your credit, and you'll have a good deal. Second, the narrator really got into it. That's what I loved most about it. In short, about the stories: Dragons, swords, skulls, magic, monsters, some of it was a little too simplistic to my taste, but others were genius writings, humorous (I always like that), and perfect for an afternoon or two of relaxation.

Whoa

There are some REALLY cool characters in here. It's one of those books you can listen to over and over again. Well, at least I think I could.

Ok stories but distracted by poor writing

The stories were decent enough. However, it seems that this was written by an AI or translated by google translate. There are many instances of phrases that are awkward because a word is used that may be a synonym but not one you would use in that context. Some words just didn’t even seem to fit. “She slipped and failed on her face”. I bought this to help me fall asleep when I have insomnia. It mostly does this but the awkwardness of the writing bothers me each time I listen.

Can’t recommend

Unfortunately, The stories lack originality, the dialog is horribly lame and narrator did not gave much to work with. Some of it sounds like a poor translation from a different language.

I note that the author has a series of anthologies that include fantasy, romance, horror, mystery, etc. the 4 fantasy stories I listened to sound like they were written in the same afternoon.

Really disappointing.

Juvenile

The writing is juvenile as is the narration. In fairness the narrator had little to work with.

Translation issues

I feel the stories were translatied to English with a poor translation. The synonyms used made the whole book a puzzle to read/ listen to.
Example: "secrets to the cell" would have been better translatied as keys to the cell..
The stories were simple and appropriate for young children and sort of fun to figure out the synonyms.
Fairy tals with a twist. The stories were good for children but the efforts to decipher the synonyms would probably be above the abilities of the age group of the these stories were intended for.

Do not recommend.

I struggled to get through even three of these stories. The writing feels as though it was done by a class of sixth grade kids for an assignment.

painfully bad

I made it to the second chapter only because the first chapter was so short. I'm not published so I try not to rag on other people's work too much, but I just couldn't in good conscience allow this to go on without a review
