This book gives a clear view of what is possible when certain tools & principles are used. This is one of the most inspiring books I've read.

He doesn't give you a lot of fluff. He gives you specifics on how to make $10,000 per month.

I have researched passive income opportunities a bit, not extensively by any means, and these 8 suggestions are just about the first 8 that you'll come across in your very first search of the topic. They are the standard recommendations for anyone making a list like this, it seems. Now, that would be totally fine if new information or tips/tricks/secrets/details/etc. were provided. Unfortunately, I didn't walk away with anything new after completing the book.

If this is your absolute first introduction into the world of passive income, then it's not the worst place to start. The author does provide encouragement and a sort of kick in the pants to motivate the reader and instill the belief that she can do it. This is nice and not found everywhere. He also provides a good deal of valuable information, if you're new to the subject (but, again, info that is found many many places passive income is discussed).

Additionally, I have actually tried several of these things in the past year or so and the ease in which these ventures can be undertaken is inflated and the real world challenges are neglected entirely. As with most other similar lists, the reader is likely to walk away with a false confidence in their understanding of the subject matter as it's difficult to recognize the missing information until it is tried and discovered for the reader's self.

One of these issues is the downplayed costs. This is also common when reading these lists, not unique to this list by any means. For example, nothing will cost you only $5 on Fiverr. There is a $2 service charge for each transaction. Plus you are given the opportunity to tip your gigger upon completion of your gig. Sure, not a requirement, but those people work really hard and do a great job (generally). It's up to you of course, but I always tip them. And the minimum tip is $5, plus that $2 txn fee. So right there, that $5 gig has set you back $14. Not to mention that you're actually unlikely to find the services discussed, or any for that matter, for $5 on Fiverr. Many understandably offer a very low level service for $5 and quickly increase the rate as the calibur of the gig increases. Yes, you will find the occasional true $5 gem of exactly what you're looking for, if you're willing to put in the time searching, and then quite often, the old adage holds true: you get what you pay for. The bigger your budget, the more likely you will walk away with the quality product that you were looking for to begin with.

That is just one reality of these suggestions I have run into that no one speaks to. I have similar examples for almost every item on this list, so the Fiverr thing is not an anomaly. I just think that should be made known. Realistic is a good place to be. It is a bit irresponsible in my humble opinion. Sure, pump your reader up to flip off the boss and grab the reigns to this new awesome life. However, we are all adults (or very mature minors if they're here reading this stuff), it is doing us a disservice to leave this stuff out for our false sense of bravado to hurl us blindly into.

For me, the author who takes the time and potential tone downturn in their piece to respect the reader fully and present the less than exciting, albeit true and manageable challenges that lie ahead will be the one offering the most and the deepest value to their reader. Then we can plan ahead and perhaps learn ways to deal with this stuff BEFORE we've gone live and are scrambling reactively instead of proactively implementing strategies to mitigate the negative impact potential. Especially since we are so strongly encouraged to start now, today! That doesn't provide the opportunity for further research to discover the issues ahead of time.

Again, this list contains good ideas. My issues lie not with the core content. But with the presentation and lack of originality. If you're going to take the time to do it, why not do it unique to you and with full disclosure to your reader so they aren't left feeling patronized and honestly a bit condescended.

I don't mean for this to be harsh. Just honest without any distracting or disserving sugar coating or cherries.

Plus the title says 3 steps which is misleading in itself! There are 8 ideas, each with 3 steps, I guess. After just reading that again, I just feel intentionally taken for a bit of a ride!
