Story
Jen Dixon is not your typical Kansas City kindergarten class mom - or mom in general. Jen already has two college-age daughters by two different (probably) musicians, and it's her second time around the class mom block with five-year-old Max - this time with a husband and father by her side. Though her best friend and PTA president sees her as the "wisest" candidate for the job (or oldest), not all of the other parents agree.

Story
Sasha has had it. She cannot bring herself to respond to another inane, “urgent” email or participate in the corporate employee joyfulness program. She hasn’t seen her friends in months. Sex? Seems like a lot of effort. Even cooking dinner takes far too much planning. Sasha has hit a wall. Armed with good intentions to drink kale smoothies, try yoga, and find peace, she heads to the seaside resort she loved as a child. But it’s the off season, the hotel is in a dilapidated shambles, and she has to share the beach with the only other occupant: a grumpy guy named Finn.

Nora Hamilton knows the formula for love better than anyone. As a romance channel screenwriter, it’s her job. But when her too-good-to-work husband leaves her and their two kids, Nora turns her marriage’s collapse into cash and writes the best script of her life. No one is more surprised than her when it’s picked up for the big screen and set to film on location at her 100-year-old home. When former Sexiest Man Alive, Leo Vance, is cast as her ne’er-do-well husband, Nora’s life will never be the same.

It’s two months before Amelia’s big audition for the Mystwick School of Musicraft. If she gets in, she will learn to spin music into powerful magic - but her Gran has one last-ditch plan to persuade her out of it: sports camp. A week of softball, sprinting, and sweaty socks isn't exactly Amelia’s idea of a good time - in fact, she's deeply, appallingly unathletic. By the end of day one, she’s puked her guts out in track, gotten a black eye in no-contact flag football, and firmly established herself as the Least Valuable Player at camp.

Lily Weiss is her mother’s worst nightmare: thirty-two and single - the horror! She’s also a talented writer but hides behind a boring job at a science foundation. To her friends, she’s reliable and selfless, which is how she winds up a bridesmaid in five weddings in six weeks. Anything for her three best friends and two (younger) siblings, right? Even if her own love life is...well, she’d rather not talk about it. To keep her sanity, Lily needs a safe place to vent. And so her anonymous blog, Bridesmania, is born.

Publisher's summary
This program is read by the author.
The hilarious, irreverent Jen Dixon is class mom - again - for her son’s fifth-grade year, and a class bully, spin-teacher training, and her irresistible granddaughter keep her on her toes and perpetually in yoga pants.
The now beloved hero of Laurie Gelman’s Class Mom and You’ve Been Volunteered has a lot on her plate this year in Yoga Pant Nation - from childcare duties for her daughter’s two-year-old to her determined mission to become a spin instructor. When her husband’s ex-wife shows up to her first ever class as a full-fledged teacher - and compliments her performance! - she can’t help but wonder what the catch is.
Throw in a mandate from the PTA president to raise $10,000 for the fifth-graders’ new Chrome books and her daughter’s mother-in-law (whom no one has ever met) visiting for Christmas, and Jen is going to need more than her regular spin class to get her through the year. But as ever, humor is her best stress relief. Her acerbic emails to the class parents and friendly spars with her daughter over how organic is organic enough for baby food will have you laughing out loud and texting Jen’s best lines to your friends.

Story
Jen Mann doesn't have a filter, which sometimes gets her in trouble with her neighbors, fellow PTA moms, and that one woman who tried to sell her sex toys at a home shopping party. Known for her hilariously acerbic observations on her blog, People I Want to Punch in the Throat, Mann now brings her sharp wit to bear on suburban life, marriage, and motherhood in this laugh-out-loud collection of essays. From the politics of joining a play group, to the thrill of moms' night out at the gun range, to the rewards of your most meaningful relationship, nothing's sacred or off-limits.

It was Christmas Day, with Mom sweating in a tiny room over a tiny stove, and Dad watching college basketball and drinking with a vengeance. A no brain needed fun book to relax too
I have read all three of her books. I love the characters. Listening to the family grow and evolve is half the fun of this book. I think the author has the best sarcastic humor. I would definitely recommend this book as a summer read or a fall rainy day or a snowed in the house read should make you smile no matter what.

Loved revisiting these characters!
I read Laurie Gelman's first two books, so I was anticipating this one, and was not disappointed. I think this one may have even been funnier than the last one. I enjoyed revisiting these characters I've gotten to "know" and Laurie's witty sense of humor. I hope she writes more!

Lighthearted & relatable for moms
I absolutely loved the fun and relatable nature of Class Mom and was excited to find Laurie continued with You’ve Been Volunteered. This Monday, I woke in a mood, we’d been dumped with more snow, keeping kids home from school again and winter blues are in full force. I decided to see what I had on my wishlist but ended up seeing a suggestion for Yoga Pant Nation. I decided to start that hoping it would get me out of my funk and boy, it was exactly what I needed. I adore these characters and truly appreciate Jen’s dry and sarcastic humor. I also thoroughly enjoy listening to Laurie narrate her work.
Well done once again!

I loved this story. I can see so much if my life in the words written by the author. I usually listen to my books on long car rides or walking the dog. So many times my husband has asked what’s so funny. Keep writing about life experience and I will keep listening

Sensational!!
I LOVE these books and crack up the entire time I'm listening...the writing is remarkable. The experiences are soooo relatable. My boys are now teenagers in high school, and her retellings transport me back to those earlier days volunteering at the boys school. YIKES!! Lol.
Please please please take us all the way through Max becoming and all the twists and turns of the family and friends along the way!! I know you have a life outside of writing...but hey we're all invested now!!

Classroom mom must read
I love all her books in this series. The first was definitely the best but the two following are still very entertaining to read. As a former room mom I could relate to all her complaints and wish I had the guts to write her clever and witty room mom emails. Great beach read/listen and who doesn’t need a good laugh during the pandemic.

A fun, light read/listen
I love the series that Laurie Gelman has created. It’s been so fun to keep tabs on the characters in each phase of life. The monotony of these books is actually what makes them so relatable! I love the authors humor and I often laugh out loud when listening. With the craziness of our own lives, it’s nice to listen to something light and hilarious like this series.
