a moving memoir- could not put it down

i liked her honesty. The story is riveting. We traded a Russian criminal for her release . She's a miracle!

What a brutally honest, incredible memoir. Absolutely blown away by Griner and her courage in her writing. Listening to her read the prologue, acknowledgments, and dedication was just so powerful.

We need to bring US hostages home!

Too full emotionally but I will say this book is an eye opener and very informative. My love and prayers for the couple. BG thank you for your courage in sharing this story you’ve helped me in 3rd quarter of my life to help even more for we are our brother’s keeper.

Inspirational, jaw-dropping read

The book grabs you from the first chapter and doesn’t let go. The horror of the Russian prison system is described with such raw emotion and candor that it left me wondering how anyone could come out of it with any shred of sanity. Brittany is an inspiration and a great example of overcoming a horrific experience with hard work and self discipline. I highly recommend this book.

pure strength

I finished the entire book in one day. I cried, I cheered and I apologized. There's no doubt that BG is a well deserving individual who definitely has favor. The support and dedication of her wife, friends and fans was amazing. I'm very happy for her and her loved ones. Thank you for sharing.

What a Goddess!

Was not expecting this glorious warrior to be such a deep thinker and grounded person. Love every word. I hope she leads more people into kindness.
Why do strong powerful women get questioned about their being female? Sojourner Truth was questioned if she were a man because for a female slave of her time she was smart, strong and articulate. Yea people get it. A 6’9” warrior can also be female. BG you got my vote!

Definitely worth listening to.

Brittney Griner’s life story thus far is typical of most (ie love of family, working toward goals, contemplating her place in this world while young etc). Her unique physical stature as well as her strength throughout such a harrowing ordeal are just two of the reasons why she is also extraordinary. The book is well written and the narration very well done. Kept my attention the whole time, and I’m a better human myself for having listened to her experience.
