William J. Lancaster was born and raised in Mississippi, nurturing a love for reading and writing from a tender age. His inspiration to delve into the world of words was ignited during high school when his father published a book. William dabbled in poetry and short stories before veering into a career path in medicine. Majoring in physics at the University of Mississippi, he seized his first opportunity to demystify complex scientific concepts to a wider audience through his thesis. During his medical school years, William contributed articles to the monthly magazine, The Murmur. His writing and publishing endeavors continued to bloom in scientific journals throughout both medical school and residency. After completing a residency in internal medicine at the University of Alabama, William pursued a fellowship in clinical informatics at Vanderbilt. His career, a blend of technology and clinical medicine, positions him uniquely to observe firsthand the crisis enveloping the American health care system. Through his storytelling, William aims to illuminate these problems, proffering solutions in a manner that not only entertains but also inspires his readers.
