Susan Angel Miller shares the events surrounding the sudden death of her teenage daughter Laura, her own brain tumor diagnosis and recovery, and the healing impact of her family's organ donation story. In sharing her extraordinary journey she hopes others will gain faith in their own capacity for resilience and personal growth, In addition to recently narrating her audiobook, Susan is an Option B Grief Gathering facilitator, leads virtual and in-person presentations on resilience and post-traumatic growth, and writes articles about her hard-earned insights. She also advocates for increased organ donation awareness and raises funds for brain cancer research. Susan continues her work with community non-profit agencies, helping to advance their strategic goals and mentor future women leaders. She received her MBA from Loyola University in Chicago and her undergraduate degree in political science from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Susan has delivered customized presentations to more than 2,000 individuals at medical organizations, grief centers, religious institutions, and book clubs. Her sessions focus on practical ways to show up for the people we care about and provide a realistic framework for thriving in the aftermath of trauma and loss. In her free time Susan enjoys reading historical fiction, traveling, and hiking. Susan and her husband Ron live in Milwaukee and are the proud parents of Sara, Rachel, and their forever-beloved Laura.
