Clare Joseph was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo as one of seven children. In 1996, a war began in her country that would kill over six million people. Most of the victims were women and children. Because of the war in Eastern Congo, she and her family fled to Tanzania. Clare grew up in the refugee camps of Tanzania and Mozambique. In 2005, Clare’s family was resettled in the USA. She praises God for protecting them during her journey. Clare lives in New York with her husband and two children.
