Rebecca Kightlinger received the 2023 Chaucer Award for Dark Age, Medieval, and Renaissance Fiction from Chanticleer International Book Awards for her second novel, The Lady of the Cliffs. For two decades, she practiced medicine as an obstetrician/gynecologist and was privileged to serve the women of Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Guyana. In 2014, she earned her MFA at the University of Southern Maine's Stonecoast MFA program, where she began the first novel in her epic series The Bury Down Chronicles about a family of mystical women healers and seers in medieval Cornwall and the rocky path of a young girl destined to wield ancient power over life and death. In addition to the Chaucer Award, the series has garnered awards for historical fiction, paranormal fiction, cover design, best first book, and best audiobook. Kightlinger carries out on-site research in Cornwall as she writes each book of the award-winning Bury Down series. She and her husband and their family of pets live a quiet life in the US, where Kightlinger is now at work on Book Three of The Bury Down Chronicles.
