Above all, I'm a mom and grandma. Wife to Lee W. Brainard @Soothkeep since 1985, I taught our four children from home through the years. We did not have the financial advantages to make this easy or convenient, but the sacrifices made for homeschooling are ones for which I have no regrets. All four children are now married with children of their own. Lee and I are the happy grandparents of 17. After the kids were out of school, I worked for ten years as a program coordinator for people with developmental disabilities. Currently, I am a full-time wife and author. I primarily write biographical books and poetry. Inspired by a book-loving grandson, I recently published my first children's book. Besides writing, I love fiber arts. Knitting is my therapy. I have an underused blog where I occasionally showcase knitting projects and poetry.
