I am the author of four novels, and a published poet and short story writer. During my working life (I wouldn't call it a career) I've been a registrar of births, deaths and marriages, sold hotels and catering properties, been a bookshop manager, a lecturer and schoolteacher, and taught in a Young Offenders' Institution. I'm now an editor, and have worked on a wide range of fiction and non-fiction books. I have two grown-up children (non-resident), two cats (resident), and live in the Highlands of Scotland.
