Mike Cox is a native Texan, born in Amarillo long enough ago to be in the sophomore class of Baby Boomers. He began his newspaper career at the San Angelo Standard-Times in 1967, reviewing Texas-related books. In addition to reviewing books, Mike has also written books, including 30 published nonfiction titles. His best-selling and longest work is a two-volume history of the Texas Rangers, "Time of the Rangers: The Texas Rangers 1900 to Present," (Forge, 2009) and "The Texas Rangers: Wearing the Cinco Peso, 1821-1900," (Forge, 2008). Mike Cox is an elected member of the Texas Institute of Letters and has won numerous journalism awards over the years. He lives in Wimberley in the Texas hill country.
