MARK SCHAEFFER was born in 1959 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and grew up in the nearby suburb of Newtown Square. His father was an Architect and his mother is a Painter, so Mark has been drawing and painting from a very young age. He attended the Philadelphia College of Art (now known as University of the Arts) where he trained as an Illustrator and a Painter. Mark spent over 20 years in magazine publishing for cable television and TV Guide, and stepped into advertising in 2001 with Red Tettemer in Philadelphia. Currently, Mark is the Studio Manager at Brownstein Group, also in Philadelphia. His days are busy with digital, print, and outdoor advertising, as well as collateral, for a variety of Brownstein's major clients. He has been at Brownstein for 8 years, and continues to illustrate, paint and sell his own work. For the past couple years, Mark has been working on a side project, tapping a number of his varied skills. He published his first book titled, The Eve to Believe--a children's book which he wrote, illustrated and designed. It's a Christmas story featuring Santa, elves, reindeer and a delightful family he created: The Brickels. The book is full of beautiful, colorful, humorous illustrations, which appeal to both kids and adults. Visit TheEveToBelieve.com where you can preview and order the book, read character bios, connect on Facebook and follow the characters on Twitter--fun stuff.
