Marita spent decades traversing the country speaking on a variety of biblically balanced topics—with her most popular being The Personalities. She has spoken to diverse audiences including business and women’s groups, as well as church congregations. For more than thirty years, Marita focused on training Christian speakers and writers through the CLASSeminar and the Glorieta Christian Writers’ Conference—which, at the time, was one of the largest Christian Writers’ Conferences in America. Marita is the author of 20 books including her best-selling Wired That Way. Though published in 2006, Wired That Way is still so popular that in 2019 it was made into an audiobook and Kindle Unlimited Members can read it FREE! Marita’s life changed in 2012 when her husband of 29 years chose to leave the marriage. In a failed attempt to save her marriage, she walked away from the only life she’d ever known and reinvented herself into an energy expert. Her 20th book addresses that topic. For ten years, Marita’s weekly column was featured in newspapers and conservative news outlets, and she was a regular guest on radio programs throughout the country. It was through her energy work that Marita met her husband Chuck Tedder. Married in 2014, they live in Lubbock, Texas. As the price of oil dropped in 2015 and 2016, Marita, once again, started over. She is now known in Lubbock for her full-circle (Marita majored in Interior design) expertise designing and remodeling houses. Today, most of her time is spent working on houses—though she also enjoys creating decor-specific art and, when asked, gives an occasional speech or two. Living Your Best Life 60 Plus is her latest project and will function alongside her renovating business.
