After a rewarding and distinguished career at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Larry W. Pitts now writes full-time as a novelist. In addition to publishing in the AJC, Larry has had short stories published in the U.S. and Canada. Absolute Justice is his first novel. He lives north of Atlanta, Georgia. * * * The Writing Life: I write because it’s what I’ve always enjoyed doing. Writing is like an addiction. The more you do it, the harder it is to stop. I count among my influences writers that have always captivated me: Poe, Malamud, Hemingway, John Updike, Norman Mailer, and Philip Roth. And of course the writers of mystery and suspense: Dashiell Hammett, Raymond Chandler, Robert B. Parker, John Grisham, David Baldacci, and John Lescroart. I get to know my characters intimately, at least the major players. It’s my job to breathe life into them so they can tell their stories. In the end, I hope my work is both entertaining and gives readers a glimpse into lives different from their own.
