After losing her dream home and all her worldly possessions to a raging and sudden wildfire that killed three people and demolished twenty-one homes, Kristen Moeller, dove headfirst into an exploration of our cultural discomfort with grief, the existence of God, finding humor in the midst of tragedy - and what it means to be a human being with all our fabulousness as well as frailties. In her writing, Kristen draws on rich life experience, professional training as a therapist and a coach, deep spiritual beliefs, double decade recovery from addiction, and her twisted dark humor. In the early 90’s Kristen earned a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology and counseled individuals and groups in the field of addiction and personal growth. After writing her first book in 2008, Kristen found true passion in supporting other authors in finding their voice as writers. Once viewed as “shy”, you can find Kristen in venues as diverse as TEDx stages, stand-up comedy clubs, on her own radio show (aptly called “What Are You Waiting For?”), as well as her appearances on local TV and national radio. In all mediums, Kristen lives her commitment to share her wisdom, yet readily admits even after years of self-growth, the twists and turns of life can still throw her. As part of her fierce commitment that others’ find their own path to personal freedom, Kristen founded the TransformationFoundation.org which provides ‘pay-it-forward’ scholarships for transformational education programs world-wide. When relaxing, she divides her time between a Yurt in the mountains of Colorado, cruising the open road in her 1960 Airstream trailer, and sailing in the Bahamas.
