Kelly Lee is a Midwestern girl that never paid much attention to the cattle, corn and soybean fields growing up in Centralia, Illinois - until her older sister married a farmer! After years of visits to the farm, Kelly quickly learned that the farm is covered in brown goo! And it was this farm in Southern Illinois that became the inspiration for her first children’s book. In 1994, Kelly moved to Murfreesboro, TN to attend Middle Tennessee State University. She graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1997 with a Bachelor’s in Mass Communications. In 2002, she moved to New York to work in the Beauty Industry. After six years of traveling the Northeast USA and Eastern Canada, she moved back to the Nashville, TN area in 2008 to be closer to family and friends. She now owns a salon located inside a Plastic Surgery Center in Middle Tennessee. In addition to writing children’s books, Kelly continues to grow her business and enjoys playing the piano, singing and writing music in her spare time.
