Keith Martin-Smith is a Zen priest and the award-winning author of 5 books, most recently, ''When the Buddha Needs Therapy." That book is about the integration of spirituality and shadow work, along with a discussion about how identity and identity politics are antithetical to a genuine spiritual practice. In addition, He works as a book coach and editor who has helped numerous accomplished teachers and leaders write their own books. Keith has also been studying Northern Kung Fu and Qi Gong for 30+ years and teaches an integrated form of martial arts including hard and soft qi gong, and cross-disciplinary training. His books include "When the Buddha Needs Therapy" (2022, Integral Life Publishing), "A Heart Blown Open" (2012, Divine Arts Media), "The Heart of Zen" (2014, North Atlantic Books), and "Only Everything" (Perception Press, 2018). His first book was a collection of short stories, "The Mysterious Divination of Tea Leaves" (2009, John Hunt Publishing), and is no longer in print. "A Heart Blown Open" won two prestigious awards, including a Silver Medal for Excellence from Nautilus Book Awards and being a finalist for Book the Year from Foreword Reviews.
