Joan Sowards is from an eccentric family of writers, educators, and world history buffs. She holds a BS degree from Arizona State University. Her favorite hobbies are writing, composing, and researching family history. She loves to travel the USA, and her list of visited countries includes Scandinavia and Europe, Hong Kong, Mexico and Canada. She and her husband lived 18 months in Ayutthaya, Thailand. They are parents to five--all who have careers in the arts. Being proud of them, Sowards claims, "I inherited my creativity from my children!" As of 2018, Sowards has seven published books.
