Dear Reader, I have been making up stories in my head since I was a little girl growing up on our small farm in eastern Oklahoma. As a matter of fact, my book Seen was based on one of the daydreams I had there in the wood one day among the giant slabs of stone half-buried on a hillside deep in the forest. Those stories never really let me go, and although I grew up, I carried them with me. Since then I have lived in many beautiful and enchanting places, and the stories I carry I now share with you.
