My non-fiction books as well as planners and journals are written to serve two groups: CAR BUYERS and CAR SELLERS. My branding for Car Buyers is "A Friend in the Car Business" and for Car Sellers is "Showroom Sales Skills". As a friend in the car business, I Help You to Buy (and Enjoy Owning) Your Next Car When I got into the car business, one of my first steps in educating car buying prospects was to write a blog called “A Friend in the Car Business” that acted as a “consumer awareness guide” for car buyers. Although I no longer work at a car dealership, I continue to write and create online courses for car shoppers and owners. So, my mission now, as A Friend in the Car Business, is to help folks like you (wherever you live) to be smart car shoppers and navigate the ever-changing technologies of buying a car and understanding how to get the most enjoyment from owning a car given the endless array of safety features and systems. As a sales trainer for automotive professionals, I Help You to Sell More Cars Without Resorting to "Old School" Trickery. early in my car sales career, I pioneered a new approach to selling that combined the best of the past with a twist that was updated and fine-tuned to the 21st Century digital age. It turned out to be the secret formula for tapping into a sales windfall. I believed that if I started applying the sales and marketing techniques that were new to the auto retail industry as well as leveraging digital technologies and the internet plus email marketing and snail mail marketing, I could set myself apart from the rest of the salespeople at the dealership. That’s what I did and I was able to gain an edge that others on the sales floor could not duplicate. Since entering the car business in 2007, I have directly helped thousands of car buyers and car sales people by using an education-based approach has won me a large and loyal following. Writing on the topic and providing advice to car buyers has always been my priority while I share a lifelong passion for cars and driving. My successful sales philosophy has always been to avoid chasing customers. I have always believed in the "attraction principle" and set out to orchestrate the flow of prospects to the dealership who were pre-conditioned, pre-disposed and motivated to do business with me. At the same time, those who arrived "fresh" at the dealership were treated to a novel new "no-objection" approach that made it easy to buy. I am a lifelong marketing and sales professional who lives near Toronto, Canada. I hold an MBA in Marketing from York University and a Bachelor of Business Management from Ryerson University (where I was awarded the Ryerson Gold Medal - Ryerson's Highest Award). The first 25+ years of my career was spent in consumer products marketing & sales in several corporate settings.
