Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Frank Neugebauer, was born and raised in Mecklenburg Germany. He is married and has two adult sons. His job required him to move frequently. His family lived in East and West Germany, but also spent several years in the Netherlands and Virginia (USA). These different places taught him to accept other people with all their peculiarities and characteristics. Tolerance is for him the basis for a peaceful coexistence of people in a society. He worked for the German Federal Armed Forces for many years, mainly in the field of IT and cyber security. Among other things, he was IT security officer for various services at home and abroad, systems engineer at a NATO headquarters, and head of an incident response team. As a member of the Bundeswehr's Computer Emergency Response Team, he was instrumental in the vulnerability analysis of many of the Bundeswehr's networks. He has published several technical books and magazine articles on various IT security topics. In his novel "Backdoor", he describes the work of an incident response team and tells an exciting story without getting lost in technical details. In this way, he makes the topic understandable to readers without a technical background. His second novel, "Grenzgebiet", takes the reader back to a time when the two German states were still enemies. He describes the thoughts, worries and longings of people who grew up in the eastern part of Germany. No one knew if or when there would be reunification. Nevertheless, people tried to leave the GDR at the risk of their lives.
