If you want a raw, blatant, disturbing, inspiring story to read, Who Said It Couldn't Be Done? by Denise Jones is such a book – Denise’s journey from poverty, incest, drug addiction and, incarceration to sobriety, spiritual redemption, and inner peace. "Deep insecurity and inferiority, drug addiction and role confusion tormented me for many years. Often wondered if I were a boy or a girl if I were human or an animal. Who am I? What am I? Why am I?" This candid, true-life account is a heartwarming and inspirational story about a little girl whose family failed her. Denise was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1960. At the age of 11, her mother introduced her to an environment overridden with drugs, sex, and crime. By age twelve, Denise was shooting up heroin, committing robbery and stealing cars in order to support her drug habit. This lifestyle went on for about fourteen years. In 1986 at age 26, Denise met the Lord Jesus Christ who gave her a second chance and rewrote her destiny. Upon changing her lifestyle and connecting with positive people, Denise overcame the adversities controlling her life. She received her GED from Olive-Harvey College in 1993, then went on to graduate from National Louis University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Behavior. In 2009, she furthered her education at Spertus College by earning a Master of Science Degree in Nonprofit Management with a concentration in Human Service Administration. She is a certified Addiction and HIV/AIDS Counselor. Today, Denise is a deliverance minister, author, and motivational speaker in the Chicago-land area. She has over 10 years experience motivating small business owners, entrepreneurs, nonprofit leadership groups and individuals in a career or life transition to use their innate abilities to master their goals and achieve successes beyond their wildest dreams. Denise has a great compassion and love for helping others. This love and compassion have inspired her to tell her story in her first book, “Who Said It Couldn’t Be Done?”
