Duane D. Stjernholm Nom de Plume: Dane Starland Author Bio Duane D. Stjernholm was born and raised in the small town of Cheraw in southeastern Colorado. He was Co-Valedictorian of his high school class and earned 12 high school athletic letters. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree (B.S.) with a Major in Psychology from Colorado State University in Ft. Collins, Colorado, where he was also on the Dean’s List. He also holds Master of Arts in Religion (M.A.R.) from the Iliff School of Theology in Denver, Colorado, with the specialties of Religious Philosophy and Metaphysics. Duane is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer who served in the Philippines. As a Volunteer he worked in rice irrigation water management in the province of Pampañga and taught Introductory Social Science at the University of the Philippines in Los Baños, Laguna, both on the Island of Luzon. A copy of his poetic Peace Corps Diary is in the Smithsonian Institution. He was a Sales and Marketing Executive in the hospitality business for twelve years and currently owns his own video production company, Starland Productions. He has written 5 full-length screenplays, and a 200 page script for bartender training in addition to his current book and numerous other projects. He has also published short articles in the San Francisco Examiner and the Denver Post/Rocky Mountain News. Duane currently resides in Littleton, Colorado, with his wife of eight years, Carly. They were married on the top of Pike’s Peak. He is a 15-year volunteer and 5-year part-time Production Associate at the Rocky Mountain Unit of Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic. When he is not writing, or producing audio books and videos, he enjoys Scuba Diving and battling the aphids in his rose garden.
