B. Rain Bennett is a two time Emmy-nominated filmmaker, writer, and keynote speaker with over 15 years of experience producing documentary films. He directed and produced his first feature length documentary by traveling the world with just a backpack and a Canon DSLR camera. That film, Raise Up: The World is Our Gym won “Best of the Fest” at the Hip Hop Film Festival and Bennett secured a deal with Red Bull Media House for worldwide release. In 2020, he released his second narrative short film, The Casserole Brigade, which won the Silver Award for Best Short Dark Comedy at the Independent Shorts Awards and is screening in multiple festivals around the South. With his company Six Second Stories, Bennett helps purpose-driven companies and organizations create short-form, heartfelt marketing video to motivate their audiences to take action. He has been published in Huffington Post and Breaking Muscle and has written over 150 articles for his weekly column at Chapelboro.com. His films and articles have been seen around the world and he hosts a weekly podcast called The Storytelling Lab. His mission is simple: to teach people how to leverage storytelling to grow their communities, deepen their connections, and maximize their impact in minimal time. Bennett resides in Durham, North Carolina, where he is currently writing his first book and first feature-length screenplay, as well as in post-production for his next feature documentary, Finding Croatoan, about the unending quest to solve the story of “America’s oldest mystery,” the Lost Colony of Roanoke Island.
