"Christopher Paolini is a true rarity."—The Washington Post
Oaths sworn . . . loyalties tested . . . forces collide... Eragon is the greatest hope to rid the land of tyranny. Can this once simple farm boy unite the rebel forces and defeat the king? Following the colossal battle against the Empire's warriors, Eragon and his dragon, Saphira, have narrowly escaped with their lives. Still, there is more adventure at hand for the Rider and his dragon, as Eragon finds himself bound by a tangle of promises he may not be able to keep.
When unrest claims the rebels and danger strikes from every corner, Eragon must make choices—choices that will take him across the Empire and beyond, choices that may lead to unimagined sacrifice.

The feeling of discovering that your favorite new listen is actually the start of a series is euphoric. That you can immediately hit play and re-enter a beloved new world, or love story, or era from history is a gift to the devoted listener. But how to pick just 100 of these unique and immersive listening journeys? We defined a series as having a minimum of three books, and—after some debate—we decided the titles had to be anchored in fiction. From YA to horror to historical fiction, from fresh voices to seminal tales, hours of discovery await.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Not if I wanted to keep them as "friends".Would you recommend Brisingr to your friends? Why or why not?
I suppose... If they were extremely bored, or I wanted to alienate them as "friends"What do you think the narrator could have done better?
The voicing of Sapphira could have been better; i.e. - softer, more feminine. Too much emphasis and emotions in Eragon's voice makes him sound like a screaming baby.Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I cried once I realized I bought the whole series up-front, and the story was becoming irritatingly stupid the further along I read. Seriously, by the time I was half-way through Book #2 in the series, I was so fed-up with the naive situations the Author imagined for his hero characters, I began cheering for Galbatorix to win and wipe them all out.Any additional comments?
I'll give the Author points for effort, and ambition; but as for story-telling... Well, he's got a LOT of growing up to do. He's no Tolkein or Feist, but he's got potential. It would serve him well to get to know the real world in which we live, and has existed millenia before his time. Join the military, and learn what real military life is like; study more on the Art of War and how strategies really work, etc. He's greatly lacking in this area alone. Also, he should cast off whatever axe it is he has got to grind with religion, for his religious bigotry bleeds through into his writing, and it stinks. Way too young to be so opinionated about such things. In summary: Take some time to grow personally and mature and your future works will improve I am sure. Good luck.
Entertaining but not stellar

The interview at the end however annoyed the crap out of me. That editors voice is a rude awakening from what you've just experienced and her reactions seemed too simple and childish. It didn't contribute to the audiobook as it could have.
Great book. But the interview at the end is a rude awakening
