love, drama, and adventure!
Allie Green is a New York cop, whom has a past that few know about. She keeps her past a close guarded secret, and feels that she needs to protect her mother above all else. Tristan Cross is needing to hire someone who can go undercover for a very sensitive and personal mission. Then he meets Allie and she seems perfect for the position, however she didn't apply. There is an attraction between Allie and Tristan that neither can deny. This story keeps you engaged and the narration is good.

WOW, what a great story
I received this audio for an honest review. WOW… I cannot believe the cliffhanger. There is so much that happened in this book. I have to say not only did Lacey Silks do an amazing job writing this story but Julia Emlen did a wonderful job narrating. You can have a great story but if you do not have a great narrator it can ruin the story. So my hat goes off to Lacey for picking Julia to narrate for this book.
Allie Green has been through so much. To experience her mother raped at such a young age had to be so hard. The guilt she carried in not being able to stop the monster that attacked her mother. So when Allie said she wanted to kill the man that raped her mother, possibly killed her father, killer her baby sister, and continues to stalk her mother. I found it totally understandable.
Tristan Cross knew who he wanted for undercover work for Cross Enterprises. He knew Allie Green would be perfect. But I am still not certain which head decided that factor. LOL Tristan did not only see potential in Allie but saw her true beauty as well.
The undercover case can either break or make Tristan and Allie’s relationship. There is so much on the line and so much that Tristan is keeping from Allie. Once Allie finds out more will she still want to do the job? Will this destroy what Allie and Tristan have?
I love the great lengths that Tristan took to see that Allie would work for him. He wanted to make sure she truly had nothing to worry about. He did not care what he had to do to ensure that type of safety. He had done all his research and knew every dark secret that Allie hidden. So there was nothing, well almost nothing he did not know.
I have to say this book had some darkness to it, but what a wonderful story it is. Oh, and don’t worry if you know Lacey then you know there are some really hot steamy parts as well. I cannot wait to listen to book 2 and see what else is in store for Allie and Tristan.

Tristan and Allie - Looking for Kendra
Tristan Cross and Allie Green are battling personal emotional demons from their past. She's the only woman who can help him find a kidnapped friend and, to top it off, she captivates him. All he has to do now is persuade her to work for Cross Enterprises, his top investigations firm.
Allie Green doesn't know how to separate her personal feelings from her professional feelings towards Tristan, and they need to survive the investigation unharmed -
As much as I HATE cliff hangers - This one was painfully satisfying, and Julia Emlen did an amazing job giving a voice to each personality and suspense.

perfectly narrated !
The book itself was enjoyable the first time I read it yet this narrator brought it up to a new level for me. She is perfect. Not all audio books have the right narrator for my taste but this one did, so much so that I am immediately starting the next book in this series. I great distraction while driving or listening while doing bothersome house work. I look forward to many more opportunity's to enjoy her voice and sultry way to perform these books.

Cliffhanger!!!
I love this series. It's hot, sexy, and has a bit of mystery too. But be warned, make sure you have book 2 (Layers Peeled) before you start this book. Otherwise, you will probably pull your hair out as you curse Lacey Silks.

An erotic suspense thriller...
Layers Deep by Lacey Silks is an Erotic Suspense / Thriller which is loaded with lots of action, danger and steamy too. This is about a woman who was a cop that goes undercover in the sex trafficking world to save someone. I loved this book! I read it in one day (audiobook) and started book 2 too! This is a cliffhanger at the end, just to warn you all (if you don't like cliffhangers) - I love them!
The author, Lacey Silks did a really great job on this book. The plot is excellent! The suspense in this book is gripping! The sex is HOT! The narrator, Julia Emlen did a fantastic delivery of this story, complete with multiple voices and accents that were very believable!
I received this audiobook for free in hopes of a honest review if I liked it & I loved it!
