Intriguing

The narrator does a good job, not great, but good. She's well-spoken, enunciates well and has a pleasant voice but she could do better with different voices for the different characters and she reads just a touch on the slow side.
As for the book - I'm intrigued enough to move forward to book 1 and will see how that goes. This story was a short and honestly for me it could go either way. I'm not pumped up to go out and get book 1 but won't not get it either. So if this helps good, it's really not much info so sorry if it's not helpful.

Prelude to the Nighthelm Guardians

Enjoyable story but I would like a chapter on how her life began and how her mentor came to care for her. Maybe it will be told in the future books.

Annoying heroine

I love fantasy books with strong female leads. This character though is whiny and lacks depth. She’s always right. All the men are always wrong even when they aren’t. This takes away from the potential of what the series could be. Story plot is good. It’s to bad the author went to far and the lead female ends up being annoying.

Too many questions

First, liked it, but wasn’t anything as described in details..then it left you hanging and there is no other books to follow. very disappointed.
