Story
Cole Riker is a Slip Runner. A contractor tasked with finding alien salvage in exchange for credits. For an ex-smuggler like Cole, there’s a catch: Don’t break the terms of parole. That means doing things by the book. Find salvage, turn it in, get paid. But everything changes when a retrieval mission lands him in a previously unknown sector. There, he finds the material he’s been sent to recover, along with something more. A brand-new form of ancient alien life.

Five years ago, aliens destroyed a carrier and its airwing at Jupiter without warning. Since then, the Earth’s nations have learned to work together, and they want to know more about the aliens who appeared, attacked, and vanished without a trace. The Americans have provided a new carrier. Chinese technology has made going after the invaders possible. And the Russians have developed a new control system that will give the craft never-before-seen capabilities. Mankind’s next war is upon us, and Uplink Squadron is the tip of the spear.

In the middle of the night, in a house on a quiet street in suburban Minneapolis, intruders silently murder Luke Ellis' parents and load him into a black SUV. The operation takes less than two minutes. Luke will wake up at The Institute, in a room that looks just like his own, except there's no window. And outside his door are other doors, behind which are other kids with special talents - telekinesis and telepathy - who got to this place the same way Luke did: Kalisha, Nick, George, Iris, and 10-year-old Avery Dixon.

Story
As a sci-fi author with a hit TV show, I have a few ideas about what alien invaders are supposed to look like. In my stories, they’re technologically advanced monsters, with tentacles, and no faces. Turns out I was right about the technology. And about how angry they’d be. But the way they look…that’s more terrifying than even I could have imagined. They look exactly like us. Because they are us.

Story
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

Story
In the 25th century, humans have conquered space. The advent of faster-than-light travel has opened up hundreds of habitable planets for colonization, and humans have exploited the virtually limitless space and resources for hundreds of years with impunity. So complacent have they become with the overabundance that armed conflict is a thing of the past, and their machines of war are obsolete and decrepit. What would happen if they were suddenly threatened by a terrifying new enemy?

Three decades ago, a colossal Empire unleashed its wrath upon a single world—Earth. Their intent was complete annihilation. However, when the dust cleared, the people of Earth were instead scattered to the stars, their home now a frozen waste at the center of a fortress system that none dared approach. Now, Earth's survivors are spread far and wide. Most lost to the stars, but some remained close to their enemy, waiting for a chance to finish the war on their own terms. Story
In the 20th century Earth sent probes, transmissions, and welcoming messages to the stars. Unfortunately, someone noticed. The Galactics arrived with their battle fleet in 2052. Rather than being exterminated under a barrage of hell-burners, Earth joined their vast Empire. Swearing allegiance to our distant alien overlords wasn't the only requirement for survival. We also had to have something of value to trade, something that neighboring planets would pay their hard-earned credits to buy. As most of the local worlds were too civilized to have a proper army, the only valuable service Earth could provide came in the form of soldiers....

Dash is always off in his head while the battle and circumstances require his full attention. Many times I shouted WAKE UP YOU FOOL, or RUN!!!! This story elicits the most reaction from me. It is exciting, and always provides the problems and solutions by the skin of their teeth. I have been binge listening, and want more!!! Great series. I love Cheney's Renegade Star series as well.

Just Finished Cosmic Ride
Wow what a great series! I loved this story from the start and could not stop listening, once I started a book I had to finish it! What a ride!!
Jeffery Kafer did an outstanding job as always!
I would love to see a follow up story, did Dash and crew hide all the tech? Did they live happily ever after? Inquiring minds want to know LOL. Ok, so when’s the movie coming out? Thanks again!

The end of one story, but there is more to come
This is almost a kind of ending for the main story of the series, but there's still 5 books left to go and I'm eager to hear them. Bring on book 11!

this should be its own anime!
if you ever loved Gundam and_or the game mass effect... this story with good voice actors and great animation would be at worst amazing! my caveat is that you only get 6 to 9 hours per credit... my suggestion for the future is to make a 2 book sale per credit. its a great story but I'm well enough in to say screw it... GREAT STORY AND NARRATIONS! I have 300 books in my library, this story is done well, almost like drug

The Messager Series
from the very set up to the very ending presenting relatable characters with all their flaws and inadequacies and learning to get past all of it for the greater good I enjoyed every single minute of this series
