Ampersand's enemies will not consider any form of truce; the greatest threat to them is not from the Superorganism, but from an increasingly fearful and violent human civilization newly aware of their existence. Cora and Ampersand must go to extreme measures to take back what was stolen and prevent wholesale human extermination–but in doing so they may be no better than the civilizations they are trying to escape.

Great addition to the series! As good as, or perhaps even better, than the first book. A must have book!

The best yet!

The characters new and familiar have even more depth and complexity. The story is engaging and unpredictable, with heart and plenty of insight into the real world. The narration is fantastic and distinct to each character.

4th book when?

Great performances, as always. The book was great. I really hope there is a fourth and fifth as originally planned. I'm dying for more. The ending felt like a cliffhanger for me, and I need the next part of Cora, Ampersand, Nick, Paris, and Sol's story. This one definitely gave me a book hangover and I don't know what to read now.

Good third book

I’m thankful for a solid female sci fi author, who has strong female characters and realistic male characters. Not sure why Lindsay Ellis likes to jab at Bill Maher, but to each their own.
Third book as good as first, explores some very human problems. Good plot twists, and adventure. Leaves room at the end for a fourth book. If you’ve read the previous two books, this is a worthwhile read or listen, please be advised that narrator voices have changed again in this book, a small speed bump at first, easily overcome.

Another fantastic entry in the series

I love this series and that has continued with this latest entry. The world building continues, there are some unexpected twists nd I can’t wait for the next book! The performances were all quality as well. Usually I’m not a fan of multiple narrators in an audiobook, but this cast pulls it off well.

My only complaint is the actual audio production on some of the chapters—specifically the Sol chapters. The use of noise/breath reduction on the audio track was so heavy handed it really sounded bad and pulled me out of the story. Hopefully they do one of those stealth fixes so it’s better on future listens.
