Winslow Keeps it Real
I really enjoy Don Winslow’s work with his short stories and his books. His characters always seem to be real. The dialogue is crisp and represent how people really talk. If you like this one, try The Heron. If you want a unique book try Savages.

This really hit home.
I joined the USMC on my 17 birthday in December 1971. I vividly remember that time period. I can't express how much this audio book has affected me. Tears, sorrow, and an overwhelming feeling of the loss of my childhood. If you don't get it that's okay. Maybe you are too young to understand the mood of the country at this time. Hopefully you and your children will never have to experience anything like this.

Depressing story
A short and depressing story about small town life in the 1970s for teenagers. The performance was good and the writing was okay but the author needs to find another way to say “he said” came out as repetitive.
