  • Summary

  • Every scandal begins with a lie. But the truth will come out. And then comes the fallout and the outrage. Scandals have shaped America since its founding. From business and politics to sports and society, we look on aghast as corruption, deceit and ambition bring down heroes and celebrities, politicians and moguls. And when the dust finally settles, we’re left to wonder: how did this happen? Where did they trip up, and who is to blame? From the creators of American History Tellers, Business Wars and Tides of History comes American Scandal, where we take you deep into the heart of America’s dark side to look at what drives someone to break the rules and what happens when they’re caught. Hosted by Lindsay Graham.

Professional, informative & addictive

There aren’t very many podcast that are designed this professionally. The host takes unknown, misunderstood & interesting topics & gives a blast of knowledge so complete, you come away feeling like the smartest person within a 100 miles. One word: PERFECTION.

Fascinating Story

I really enjoyed learning about the history of treating mental illness through a personalized account how and why lobotomies were performed, and how individual doctors can influence medicine for good or for bad. I love all of the American Scandal dramatizations!

Excellent Summaries

I originally sought out a podcast for the express purpose of learning more about Iran Contra specifically and stumbled across American Scandal on iTunes. It's wonderful to see commercial free versions included in my membership here BUT finding episodes in order is nearly more trouble than it's worth. I'm aware that this is a first world problem, but it's truly an edutainment podcast. Fortunately, they're labeled, but this does not make it conducive to listening on the road or during chores.

Besides that, the host is excellent and the writers are clearly well read in the topics discussed.

Sad to get to the end

Loved every story, so interesting and entertaining. I was sad when I got to the last story and it was over. Anxiously awaiting more!

Fascinating Re-enactment of Events

This is a first person account of far reaching scandals, many of which shape the American Government's policy to this day. Lindsay Graham is a great narrator, and clearly puts a ton of work and research into the show. The music and the structure of the show make for a really immersive experience.

Lindsay Graham sure knows how to draw you in

I am a new and huge fan of the Wondery podcasts. The stories draw you in and really allow you to visualize his words. American Story Tellers was fantastic so I followed it with American Scandal and it did not disappoint.

Amazing; same story, same characters today!

Listened three times. Power, control, money and sex; this is what makes our government work for those who will hold onto their power and wealth at all costs.

Informative and Engaging

I've listened to a lot of this show, but the Tuskegee episodes brought me to tears and drove me to add my five star review. Thank you for such a great podcast, I look forward to future material.
