Publisher's summary

Wolverine. Sabretooth. Silver Fox. Wraith. Maverick. Together, they were Team X, the best covert-ops team NATO had to offer. But a mission to retrieve a disk from a pair of Soviet agents proved to be more trouble than they bargained for. A Soviet operative codenamed the Black Widow, a mutant Interpol Officer named Sean Cassidy, and shape-changing freelance spy Mystique were also all after the disk.

Years later, Wolverine is a valued member of the uncanny X-Men. The Black Widow defected and became a respected American super hero. Cassidy is Banshee, mentor to the next generation of young mutants. Mystique and Sabretooth are reluctant members of X-Factor, the government strike force. Wraith is still a covert-ops agent. Silver Fox is dead, and Maverick is dying of the Legacy Virus.

Each of them is kidnapped, one by one - starting with Sabretooth, by far the deadliest member of the former Team X. Wolverine must find out the terrible secret from that old mission - a secret that has remained hidden for years and could spell death for all of them!

Just awesome

Code Name Wolverine is a truly phenomenal novel. The story and narration pulled me in immediately. Set in the early 2000 comic book period this was perfect for me. The characters are done perfectly. The story. Just wow. No MCU hangups. We have Black Widow and Nick Fury Sr as players.

Action Packed!

Great story. I liked the flashbacks every other chapter. It felt like you were listening to 2 stories. I also dug all the character cameos too! Would recommend even if you're not a Marvel fan.

A Superb Team X Story

It was a lot of fun to read along as this delivered and expanded upon Wolverine’s origin story while simultaneously telling a great story in the present. As someone who came into the world of Wolverine and the X-men through the 90’s animated series it was fun to see a more detailed version of Wolverine’s past. Characters like Silver Fox and Maverick (who had a brief introduction in the animated series) were fully developed in this book. This story is largely about Wolverine’s time on Team X and the repercussions of their missions. The action is gripping, and the plot is compelling, but the characters interactions are where this novel shines the most.

Very Entertaining

Entertaining and well performed. I don’t usually enjoy stories where we hop back and forth between then and now but I didn’t mind that aspect of the story because of the narrator’s performance.

Pretty good Weapon X story

I liked all of it except the time/era switches can get confusing. Voicework was great, I skip a lot of thr Xmen because Nancy Yu does the voices, and the majority of characters are male, makes no sense. This voice work hit the mark though.

Best book I ever read 15 years ago...

Best book I ever read 15 years ago turns out to be a great audio book.

Golden sure knows his Marvel, every character is just as he/she should be. Biggest compliment I can give I think.

Listen to and enjoy this awesome spynovel!
