Publisher's summary

A tour de force in-studio performance! Join Master Shakespearean actor Tina Packer as she deconstructs and conjures Shakespeare’s most famous female character and multi-award-winning actor Nigel Gore, who plays Romeo to Packer’s Juliet and Petruchio to her Kate. Together they bring listeners on a riveting journey as they explore love, loss, and power through Shakespeare's heroines, combining the most beloved Shakespeare scenes with riveting, highly accessible analysis.

Through this unique, inspiring audio performance, listeners will discover the mastery of Tina Packer (founder of the world-renowned Shakespeare & Company), hailed “marvelous!” by The New York Times and “irresistible” by the Associated Press, and the steady brilliance of Nigel Gore (Shakespearean actor and audiobook narrator of The Time Machine by H G Wells.)

Funny, fierce, and irresistible for Shakespeare lovers, scholars, artists, and anyone who thinks the lady doth protest too much.

“The play explores Shakespeare’s own enlightenment,” says Packer. “As he delves into the female psyche, and realizes if we don’t deeply listen to what the women say, we are never going to solve the problems of the world!”

Women of Will [is] dazzling and illuminating.” (Boston Globe)

“Brilliant! Fearlessly impassioned acting that you’ll remember for as long as you live.” (Wall Street Journal)

Nothing short of brilliant

A tour de force, original, exciting, mesmerising, I absolutely loved this fantastic audio drama! Tina Packer and Nigel Gore are really something - what a treat to listen to the great Tina Packer, founder of Shakespeare and Company, as she talks about the evolution of Shakespeare's women and plays so many of them so brilliantly. The banter back and forth between Packer and her acting partner Nigel Gore is fascinating. It's like a speed date with Shakespeare's women. BRAVO a hundred times over. BRAVO!
