Publisher's summary

Brenner is not a werewolf...he is the result of a secret US Army experiment. The creation of a government-controlled super-soldier.

No one asked if he wanted to take part. So, he escaped. And for the last 50 years, he has been living in the back roads and the small unknown towns of America. Never aging. Searching for a cure. At the same time, avoiding the dark-ops experts who are looking for him.

But just because he can become a seven-foot, 400-pound killing machine, it doesn’t mean Brenner is bad. In fact, he sticks to a strict code. And like the High Plains drifters of old, anyone who crosses the Wolfman’s code is sure to suffer.

They took his humanity...and now it’s time for payback.

A new hero

I really enjoy when the author takes these short books (5 hours) and get right into the story. Craig Zerf does that with Wolf Man. Brenner is a werewolf and is looking for a cure. He was turned as part of a government project call Project Bloodborn.

Brenner is a man looking for answers. Despite being told by wise men “ain’t no cure for being what you are.” He has a moral code, which compels him to right any wrong. No manner how much he despises his wolf nature; it is that strength that aids him when he fights insurmountable odds.

While on the lonely route of US 50, Brenner, on his 1962 Harley pan, stops in a town for food and gas. Unfortunately, it was a backwater town were the economic boom missed and the people reek of subjection. Compelled by his code of honor, he becomes a one-man force obliterating the evil of the town and setting the residents free. He fights the methadone dealers and cooks, the sheriff and deputies, and mayor.

Since he was changed by the government, Sergeant Soloman Hopewell is sent to capture Brenner. Sergeant Soloman Hopewell is a man who relishes killing. Brenner is his raison d’etre and gives him a reason to kill.

The action is constant. The story is captivating. Brenner is a hero worth following.

Pulp Fiction and Paranormal mix

Enjoyed every moment of the story from start to finish. Well written plot that followed interesting twist and a few turns. Was done before I realized it! Can't wait for the next book.

NEED THE REST OF THE SERIES ON AUDIBLE

This book was a good read, but I’m kind of upset that the rest of the series isn’t on audible. The storyline was very well put together with good character depth and very little lull spots. The narrator did a good job bringing the characters to life and staying constant with voices.
