Publisher's summary

Now that Gabby is back on her feet after being in a homeless shelter, she has a new dream that will stretch her faith further than ever. Gabby expects a fight from her husband over custody of their boys, but she is taken aback when he leans on her for a loan to cover his gambling debts. When she turns him down, Philip makes a desperate move that puts Gabby, her friends at the shelter, and even the House of Hope at risk. The props Gabby usually leans on--Jodi, her Yada Yada prayer partner; her friend Harry, the ex-cop; and Lee, her lawyer, who has fallen in love with Gabby--are not always there when she needs them most. Gabby must make a decision that could change the course of her life. But is it for better--or for worse?

Horrible Narration

The new narrator is horrible. Great story but I wish I had read it myself than listen to her.

Don’t change narrators in middle of series

There is such a difference in their voices. With Barbara you knew the difference in characters by her voice. With Martha they all sounded similar and just not right.
Also Gabby came across as a real whiny B for part of the story. I don’t know if it was narrators tone or the writing but developed a distaste of her character for a bit. Hope the next book is better even tho it’s going to be the same narrator.

Loved continuing Gabby’s journey!

The story is fabulous, so well written, really pulls you into the lives of the character. However, very disappointed with narrator, wished they had not changed:-(. The narrate for the first two was exceptional and skilled at doing different accents and ages. This one was so off with the accents, and when she did a child’s voice, it was painful, not a good match for the story/characters. Not to mention, that her voice sounded like that of an old woman, not at all like the main character. Because I was already invested in the character and storyline from previous two books, I stuck with it.

Great, but bring back Rosenblat as narrator!!

I love the story as always, but it's very hard to go from Barbara Rosenblat to this narrator. I think if I hadn't heard Rosenblat for all Yada Yada and the first of this House of Hope series, it may have been better and easier to swallow.

Rosenblat's voices/characters brings the entire story to life. They could actually have marketed it as a dramatized version for the distinct differences in each voice. Her depiction of each ethnic group and gender is so realistic it's hard to believe it's just one person doing it all! It was amazing and added to much to the experience.

Martha Manning tells the story as a narrator, Rosenblat is a true artist. I wish they would've finished out the series with her 😔

I'll order the next book in the series because the series and storylines are so good, but I can't seem to get over the narrator change. It's distracting and hard to focus.

But overall I love Neta Jackson. I may just purchase the books and insert Rosenblats voices using my imagination, lol!

Good book.

Good book, just really miss the previous narrator from ya da books.
I do seem to learn something for my own life each time I read one of the ya da books. Neta, I believe you have a real gift.

Tears and Laughter

There aren't words to describe the lows and the highs of this amazing series. So glad to already have the next one queued up.
