Viki è un piccolo vulcano che non riesce a sfiatare fumo e fiamme come gli altri. Questa cosa lo rattrista moltissimo. I suoi amici gli dicono di avere pazienza: quando sarà grande le cose cambieranno. Ma lui sa che non è così.
Un giorno, finalmente, Viki viene scosso da terribili tremori e, con un boato tremendo, dalla sua gola salta fuori un macigno: eccolo diventato come gli altri, si dice. È stremato ma felicissimo. E invece...Tra lo sbalordimento di tutti, dalla sua bocca sgorgano e s’innalzano per il cielo delle meravigliose bolle di sapone che attirano una moltitudine di gente. Lui si dispera: “Non sono un fenomeno da circo” urla.
Ma il Saggio gufo: “Signore, ringraziate chi vi fece questo spettacolare regalo, ché non è da tutti produrre tanta bellezza. Farà morire d’invidia i vostri colleghi, credetemi”.
