Story
Somewhere on the frontier between thought and reality exists the Discworld, a parallel time and place that might sound and smell very much like our own, but which looks completely different. Particularly as it’s carried though space on the back of a giant turtle (sex unknown). It plays by different rules. But then, some things are the same everywhere. The Disc’s very existence is about to be threatened by a strange new blight: the world’s first tourist, upon whose survival rests the peace and prosperity of the land.

Story
At six years old, Terry was told by his headteacher that he would never amount to anything. He spent the rest of his life proving that teacher wrong. At 66, Terry had lived a life full of achievements: becoming one of the UK's best-selling writers, winning the Carnegie Medal and being awarded a knighthood for services to literature. Following his untimely death from Alzheimer's disease, the mantle of completing Terry's memoir was passed to Rob Wilkins, his former assistant, friend and now head of the author's literary estate.

Story
A delightfully funny, fantastically inventive collection of twenty unearthed short stories by Sir Terry Pratchett, the award-winning and bestselling author and creator of the phenomenally successful Discworld fantasy series. These rediscovered tales were written by Terry Pratchett under a pseudonym for British newspapers during the 1970s and 1980s. The stories have never been attributed to him until now, and might never have been found—were it not for the efforts of a few dedicated fans.

Publisher's summary
Brought to you by Penguin.
The audiobook of Unseen Academicals is read by Colin Morgan (Merlin; Testament of Youth; Belfast). BAFTA and Golden Globe award-winning actor Bill Nighy (Love Actually; Pirates of the Caribbean; Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) reads the footnotes, and Peter Serafinowicz (Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace; Shaun of the Dead) stars as the voice of Death. Featuring a new theme tune composed by James Hannigan.
'We play and are played and the best we can hope for is to do it with style.'
Football has come to the ancient city of Ankh-Morpork. And now the wizards of Unseen University must win a football match without using magic...so they're in the mood for trying everything else.
To do so, they recruit an unlikely group of players: Trev, a street urchin with a talent for kicking a tin can; Glenda, the night chef who makes a mean pie; Juliet, the kitchen hand turned world's greatest fashion model; and the mysterious Mr Nutt, who has something powerful, and dark, locked away inside him....
And the thing about football—the important thing about football—is that it is not just about football. Here we go, here we go, here we go!
Unseen Academicals is the seventh book in the Wizards series, but you can listen to the Discworld novels in any order. The first book in the Discworld series—The Colour of Magic—was published in 1983. Some elements of the Discworld universe may reflect this.
Critic reviews
"This isn't just football, it's Discworld football. Or, to borrow another phrase, it's about life, the Universe and everything." (The Times)
"No one mixes the fantastical and mundane to better comic effect." (Daily Mail)

prefer the original but this is also very good
as the title suggests the original recordings will always be my preferred way to hear Discworld but this is still a great experience
only major issue I had is that the cut-aways are often jarring and immersion breaking as they are frequently fairly short and buffered on either side by a small sound effect, this would work fine if they where longer but these sadly aren't

Trouble with understanding :(
I love listen to English audiobooks (it's not my first language), but I had major problem with the lector accent. Most of the time had to I had carefully listen to every word and it was very tiring. The story is good :)
