E non tutti i figli delle madri sole sono come il figlio di Fiona. Bizzarro e disadattato, con un enorme paio di occhiali, vittima degli scherzi atroci dei compagni, Marcus ha anche lui una passione un po' anacronistica per Joni Mitchell, non sa nulla di calcio, non conosce i Nirvana ed è disposto a credere che Kurt Cobain giochi per il Manchester United. Insomma ha bisogno di qualcuno che gli dia le istruzioni per l'uso del mondo, e una normalità che non ha mai conosciuto. Per esempio ha bisogno di Will. Due figure speculari di protagonisti per un duplice, speculare percorso di formazione.
