The ending stinks

Good narrator, story started off strong, but the end is crap. After many nuanced twists and turns and suspense building up to what you hope will be a satisfying climax, it ends with a sophomoric splat right on its face. And after that, the second-guessing of the story and many of the moments in which the ending should have been explainable starts, but the ending isn't explainable, not by any reasonable explanation anyway. If that was really meant to be the way the story shook out, there should have been much more backstory to the person who ultimately ends up being the major bad character-- it's not a spoiler to say that. Even if this book had only been aimed at teenagers, and I'm not sure that it is, the ending is still a feeble cop-out.

Disturbing

It was a very disturbing book especially towards the end, was definitely not expecting that ending. Other than the narrator sounding like she was talking thru a can it was a great book that definitely had plenty of twists and turns in it.

Ultimate sacrifice

Wow! I am wondering if the age is right for this book though. Excellent story.The suspense and the ending ,just wow! Danielle Muething was a really good narrator.I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Not what I expected

This was a fantastic read. Not at all what I expected. Satanic rituals and sacrifices. Never once thought that the heroine would be sacrificed. This book takes you down different avenues that all bring you back the devil.
The narrator did a fantastic job I hope to read more by this author and narrator they make a great team.

great story

Well written story and characters. I enjoyed it. The narrator did a great job. Easy to follow the story.

Makes no sense

This book was a waste of my time. The book started off strong but soon ventured into stupidity. The twist at the end made no sense whatsoever. Do not waste you money on this book. I received this audio book upon my request and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Vickie...

Vickie! Ugh,this character. She's a 17 year old noisey asshole and has absolutely no respect for people's privacy. Her 4 year old neighbor is murdered and it's wrecks the whole street but noisey ass takes it upon herself to solve the crime instead of leaving it up to the cops. There is ALL the family drama in this book. We got cheating spouses, kinky brothers, bipolar brothers,satanist, animal mutilation (! warning!) then i started skipping chapters so i'm sure there's more. I liked the story but the drama could have been dialed back. I did not like Vickie but the other characters were ok. I would give this author another try.
Danielle Muething read this book and she did great. I don't know if her accent was natural or acting but she nailed it.
