Una versione riveduta e corretta della celebre opera scritta da Alfred Jarry nel 1896, "ribassata"da Dario Fo per adeguarla alla statura del presidente del Consiglio in carica al momento della messa in scena, sullo sfondo della guerra in Afghanistan e poi in Iraq.
Va in scena per la prima volta nel 2001.
In effetti la realtà contemporanea - dice il Premio Nobel - è talmente incredibile e paradossale da sembrare una farsa in cui Ubu, avendo la fedina penale poco pulita, non può aspirare a un comune lavoro da spazzino mediante pubblico concorso, ma può benissimo fondare un partito (Alè Bu!) e diventare Primo Ministro di un paese "normale", come il nostro.
Il discorso si fa più universale passando al tema della guerra, con una ricostruzione degli eventi che hanno preceduto il conflitto iracheno fatta da Jacopo Fo che denuncia interessi e collusioni dei vari contendenti, con un'intervista di Dario Fo a Giorgio Bocca e infine con un "binologo" sui buoni e i cattivi condotto da Franca Rame.
