Publisher's summary

Christmas in a Cornish seaside town, bright lights, and a hot new romance to ward off the winter storms...what could be finer? But Gideon and Lee's first festive season together is shockingly interrupted when Lee tries to rid a client's home of a malevolent presence. The ritual goes wrong, and in its aftermath Lee is strangely altered.

As well as dealing with the changes in his lover, Gideon has a sinister thread to follow, linking the haunted house with disappearances among the homeless people of Falmouth. Can love withstand what looks like a case of possession?

As the darkest night of the year comes down, Gideon finds himself locked in a battle to restore his lover's soul.

Love and Intrigue

Creepy spirits and standing stones, coupled with love and acceptance from family and neighbors. not to mention an awesome dog character. I love this little series much more than expected.

A wonderful series

This book is the second in the Tyack and Frayne series. each book is, by turns, spooky, tender, sexy, funny, mysterious. This one was especially creepy, but also had a little cameo appearance of the two main characters from Fox's The Salisbury Key. The bond between Tyack and Frayne is an evolving one, and the arc of this relationship across the series is such a deep pleasure to read---and to hear! Excellent performance by Tim Gilbert.

I’m really enjoying series

4.5⭐️. I am really loving this series with its “paranormal mystery” with police/psychic involved. The main characters are growing in love as their relationship flourishes. I really like how we are learning more of their backstories. It’s good character development. The author has done a very good job showing the obstacles that gay men experience throughout their lives without ever coming off “preachy”, even when there is a minister in the family. I would label this “steamy” and as this is my first series about men in love I find it appropriately sexy for 2 people in love and earlier in their relationship.
This one had a more psychic led storyline.

The one thing I realized is I don’t like the Narrator makes one character sound like a falsetto woman’s voice. In spite of that, I’m already downloading book 3.

Interesting plot, even better characters

This is the second book in the series, and I loved it even more than the first. The main characters are still at the awkward beginning stage of their relationship, and it's so refreshing to read about adults dealing with problems in an adult way (as opposed to sulking or running away).

The mystery threat at the center of this book is even more ominous than in the first, so it was nice seeing Gideon and Lee supporting and relying on each other more. Readers are also given more information about their respective families and upbringings.

Side note: I love Gideon's mother!

Tim Gilbert's narration was lovely as always. I'm not an expert on various Cornish accents, but his mild variations when speaking for different characters made it very easy to keep track of who was speaking when. To be honest, I'd happily listen to Tim Gilbert reading a dictionary.

Seeker's Salvation

Do any of us ever really see people living on the streets? Do we see their struggle or notice if one of them is missing? Are we the product of what and who we encounter, even if we can't always see what may be there? Lee and Gideon are faced with situations that are mostly unexplainable, yet leave them both affected. Another great story by Harper Fox.

Spooky little mystery…

A fantastic novella for Halloween!

What’s’ going on in a stranger’s home?
What’s happened to Lee?
What does the future hold for Gideon?

Best enjoyed as part of a series.

Great Cornish accents by Tim Gilbert!

More coherent than the previous one

Despite having misgivings about the first book in this series being a pile of chaos, I’m listening because I loved some of the author’s other books, this one was short, and the title “tinsel fish” amused me. It was pretty good. I’ve been trained by usual ghostly fiction offerings to have expected something different causing poltergeist-like problems in this one. The fresh take was interesting & the guys seem good for each other (to say nothing of the dog). I think I’ll keep on with the series.
