Can Cindy Survive the Past to Find Her Future?
In 2022, Cindy Downing, a 25-year-old woman with a troubled past, kills her billionaire boyfriend in self-defense and flees, boarding an Amtrak train headed for Chicago. While passing through a tunnel, the train plunges through a burst of light—into another time and place.
When Cindy regains consciousness, she is shocked to find herself on a 19th-century steam locomotive heading to Denver, Colorado. A scheming woman has switched Cindy’s identity, and she’s forced to be a mail-order bride contracted to marry a cruel, wealthy man who still mourns his late wife's untimely and mysterious death.
As Cindy struggles to survive her strange new reality, she meets the attractive Marshal Bryce Vance, and sparks fly. Soon, Cindy is fighting for her life, desperately seeking a way to return to 2022.
Is Cindy trapped in 1880? Is it even possible for her to return to 2022? Even if she discovers a way to return, will she be tried for murder?

Story
Jackson Lee is a well-known adventure vlog influencer. He and a small support crew have been cashing in on the video craze with phenomenal, hair-raising exploits for years. Their latest undertaking is way beyond anything they've ever done. It's extremely dangerous and, worse, highly illegal. Never would Jackson have imagined those risks to be the least of his worries.

Story
A time-travel adventure that just might make you a believer. The Time Machine by H. G. Wells was fun, as was the enjoyable A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle and Jack Finney's delightful Time and Again. If you enjoyed these books, you’ll definitely want to read Mission in Time. However, after reading Mission in Time, this might be the first time you actually find yourself believing in time travel. Imagine being sent on a time-travel mission expecting to arrive in a certain period of time and finding yourself in a very different era—a major period in the history of the United States....

What happened to Dr. Jonathan Brandon, a dashing RAF flight surgeon, who disappeared from London in 1945? Kidnapping? Murder? Or did Brandon merely vanish of his own free will, seeking another life? American teacher Anne Howard is stunned by a different explanation - that her British grandmother's long-lost fiance was unwillingly wrenched back through time to Elizabethan England. Anne knows time travel is nonsense - until she is handed a fresh-cut thornless rose, a bloom extinct for over 400 years.

Not a fan of Virtual Voice
The story wasn't done justice by the telling with "Virtual Voice". I personally like it when the narrator uses different voices for characters in the story. In this story, although told in the first person, the character John Warren is an imposing man. When the quotes are done in the same voice as the heroine it is odd. It throws the listener off and actually causes the story to stumble. I finished the book, but if you are like me. I am avoiding Virtual Voice unless it is a textbook. I feel sorry for the author, who worked so hard to produce a book she could be proud of, only to be let down by the presentation.

A Delightful albeit Silly Fantasy
Quite frankly, when I started listening to this audiobook, I was convinced I would not get past Chapiter-2, particularly because of its "Virtual Voice." Yet, as I got inserted into its amusing sci-fi plot, I became increasingly drawn to its elaborate storyline; in fact, even the narration was tolerably decent. Hence, I recommend it to any science fiction fan!

Great story. Robot narrator
When will the world learn that robots or AI can not replace humans? I feel sorry for this author. I am guessing they are fairly new and were tempted by new technology to get additional exposure. Again. Story line seems good. The narrator is AI and has very limited (if any) voice inflections
Only a few chapters in and only the story line keeping me engaged. Will try to finish.
