Joy in the Journey

Highly recommend-especially for those of us who have questioned if who we are is okay because it is different than others. Much of what she has learned and experienced is very similar to my life and I connected with the need to let God teach me along the journey. There is a wholeness that we can live by allowing ourselves to see who we are designed to be-nothing is accidental or lost when we view life as a series of opportunities to learn who God is and His beautiful plans for us. Like cherished jewels in a dusty glass case in the back of an old shop, God wants us to clear off, polish up, and shine with a comfortable ease in His design. Women! We are treasures! Thank you for your voice, Jami. ❤️

This Must Be the Book

I listened to Jami’s heartwarming and inspiring book while weeding in my garden each morning for the past 3 days. I’m sure if any neighbors were watching they would have thought I was having a nervous breakdown as I alternated between laughter and tears! I’ve followed Jami since her blogging days in 2011 and I was just so moved by the breadcrumbs of wisdom she has gained along her journey and shared with us in this tender inspirational nonfiction.

This afternoon I sat down and listened to the last minute of each chapter and transcribed her thought provoking questions. Tonight I will journal and try to be unabashedly honest about the dreams that have laid dormant through these years of all-consuming motherhood and try to awaken the spark within me! Thank you, Jami, for the permission slip. 💗

Sticky Stories

Sticky stories so good when I got to the end, I read it again. I’m left wondering, how is it possible someone sees me, someone I’ve never met, and me stuck where I am, yet in the pages as I’m reading, gives me a nod and a wink and assures me everything is going to be ok because she’s been there too? We truly are all part of one body and I believe I can rise out of the goo because she did too. And not just rise but shine!

A true gem of self discovery!

I was moved to tears and laughter in almost every chapter. This was the exact momentum I needed at the exact time. A breadcrumb on my journey…a God wink written by a faithful woman whom I am so grateful for. Thanks Jami!

Learning from Jami how to follow my breadcrumbs toward my giftings and subsequently heal through Jesus!

I have known Jami through social media for years (and actually got to meet her face-to-face in real life once, though she may not remember… ). I have heard her testimony many times, but the thing that gets me is that every I hear it, I learn something new and can apply it differently but directly to my life. This book was no exception! Her testimony is just the tip of the iceberg… Her hilariously relatable storytelling ability is a true gifting… her church hurt is real, but her message of hope and growth is too!!!

The season I am coming out of, gave me new ears to hear… To understand her differently, and therefore myself… my own church hurt… AND OUR GLORIOUS CREATOR!!! In reflecting on the breadcrumbs of my past, leading to my present, I’m able to get back to what I dreamed up as a child and now dream about for the future and how that was meant to serve His Kingdom all along (although blissfully unaware for most of my life).

I am inspired to serve in my giftings after reading this book, that feels like one of those talks you have with a dear friend where you can be totally transparent and seen over coffee in your living room, with a giant pile of laundry, and grimy pans in the sink…and (bread)crumbs all over the floor…truly without judgement, but what’s more, actually with celebration!!! Of how He’ll use them!!! I don’t know how yet… but what I do know is: I’m doing it scared because…
