Publisher's summary

Can an omega shifter and an alpha vampire from opposing clans find happiness?

Sven

I knew the moment I went away to college, I was letting my family down. They think omegas exist to find an alpha and have pups, but I’m holding out for my own destiny - and my destined mate.

I just never imagined he’d be the gorgeous second-in-command of the neighboring vampire coven. Or that one night of passion was going to change my life forever.

Claude

My second life began as violently as the first one ended, and it’s taken more than a century to find my lost humanity. Not that I expected it to take the shape of an omega wolf - and the son of my coven’s greatest adversary, no less.

I’ll do whatever it takes to protect Sven and our hybrid child from a world that says our love shouldn’t exist.

This is a standalone story, unrelated to the first book. This is a MPREG romance that features forbidden love and ends in an HEA. Audiences 18+ only, see inside cover for content warnings.

The Vampire's Wolf

This is a quick and fast paced story and there is not a lot of character development. Sven comes from an old-fashioned family and as an omega he is supposed to follow the rules and find a good alpha to take care of and start a family with. Yet Sven is the total opposite and wants to find his own way. Things come to a head when he finds his mate but all is not good as his mate is a vampire and Sven is a wolf. The two try to fight the call of the mate but every time they are close the mating bond takes over. Sven and Claude are good together and make a good couple. It was interesting to see the way the two men find their way. Each man must deal with their families, the coven and the pack. While the story is interesting, I did not find the characters to endearing and did not pull me into their story. I was not fond of the voices that narrator JJ Jenness uses for these characters and there is not a lot of emotion in the narration.

voice

I loved the story very much, I was very annoyed by how whiny and childish Sven's voice was, it was the reason I bought the book and stopped listening to it. The storyline is beautiful, and I couldn't help but think of twilight. it's just that whiny voice that pised me off EVERYTIME

it was a good story

so I like how a vampire and a werewolf fall in love because they usually are mortal enemies and it's a good love story based on that the narration for this story was a little annoying because it was either too nasally or high pitched but it was a story I enjoyed.

Good listen.

Such a sweet star crossed lovers type of story. I like Claude and Sven together. JJ Jenness did a good job with this narration. I really like how he did Claude's voice. Such a good listen.

MPREG Fantasy

When first requesting this title, I expected a steamy and angst filled story between vampires and werewolves. What I got was a that and a little bit more. Prior to this book I had not been aware of the MPREG subgenre. Once I accepted the MPREG storyline, I grew to view story as mostly engaging and entertaining. The plot is predictable and simple but the energetic writing makes up for this fact. The narration was serviceable. Unfortunately, the narrators voice would crack often in distracting ways and distinguishing between characters would become difficult. I enjoyed the story and it feels like a good introduction to a subgenre and series of books that I might continue to enjoy. it's okay

the storyline is okay, with a different narrator and a more flushed out plot it may have even been good.

Okay Shifter Story

I was given this book by request for my unbiased review.

The story itself is actually an okay story. I have book 1 in this series and it is not a bad series. The writer is pretty decent which is why I agreed to listen to this book and give my review.

The narrator, however, is not so great. He is not terrible but I don't think he was a good fit for this particular story. I ended up just reading the ebook version as it was difficult to get into the story with this narrator. After actually reading the book, I found that I quite enjoyed it.

So. Good read, but not so good narration.

Forbidden Love

I loved this story of forbidden love between an omega wolf and an alpha vampire who discover they are fated mates (referred to as Imprinting here). The struggle to deny fate and their feelings sets a rich tapestry of angst, uncertainty, and secrets. Family and pack/coven relations set up barriers, but in the end love will not be denied...or will it? I loved Claude and Sven, and all the secondary characters, too, even Reyland. I hope we get to see him find his mate in a future book. I would love to see more of these characters.

The narration is okay, but I was expecting a firmer, deeper voice for Claude. This is just a personal preference. There is nothing wrong with Mr. Jenness' narration, I just didn't like it for this story. I recommend that you listen to the sample and decide for yourself.

The voices crack me up

I cannot take the omega's voice seriously and it made me giggle the whole time especially when he got intimate. Also idk why but the girls have deep voices😂. I like the characters though. The story ran fast but the characters voices had me giggling throughout the story.
