Good Writing, But Not Fond of the Story
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
The book itself was interesting, the premise was relevant to the times, I just wasn't able to enjoy it. If this is how cops really react and think, then no wonder people are against them. Sending cards of congratulations? Hailing the killing of an unarmed girl? These are the people I'm supposed to turn to for help? It's not a particularly comforting notion.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
Both were pretty slow, so I would say yes but with the caveat that I didn't particularly enjoy either. I do think, though, that another narrator might have better brought the words to life and eliminated a lot of the drag I felt for the first few hours.
Any additional comments?
The Right Wrong Thing was provided to me for an honest review by Audiobook Boom. I don't hate the story and felt that I might have liked Dot under different circumstances, but given that this was my introduction to her, I don't know that I'll finish this book or read any others in the series. The writing is good and I love the premise of the series, but it bothered me that everyone more or less dismisses Lakeisha's death (with the exception of Randy, but her focus was mostly so that she could alleviate her own guilt), yet Randy's death is oh so tragic, when both women helped put themselves in vulnerable positions. Why was Randy's life presented as being more valuable?
That, coupled with the terrible behavior of some of the cops, which I assume was at least partially influenced by Ms. Kirschman's real-life dealings with law enforcement, just left a bad taste in my mouth.

The Right Wrong Thing: Dot Meyerhoff Mystery
"This audiobook was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review courtesy of Audiobook Blast."
WoW! This suspense, police drama deals with adding women officers and community reaction to an officer involved shooting. There are characters you want to cheer for and others you want to smack up side the head. I felt drawn in from the start and felt held until the end. I want to find more from this author.
The narration was well done. The characters were excellently portrayed.

Police procedural with strong female protagonists
Would you listen to The Right Wrong Thing again? Why?
Yes, it was a well plotted book. With interesting character development. And the narrator, Daniela Acitelli was a creative, talented narrator.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
I have mixed feelings about this question. If you're asking if this is Jaws or a Stephen King novel, then no. But, I don't think it is meant to be. It is a good police procedural, down to earth with enough mildly quirky characters. I'm being critical of this QUESTION, not the book itself.
Which character – as performed by Daniela Acitelli – was your favorite?
Dr. Dot Myerhoff
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Be careful out there.
Any additional comments?
I'm a fan of the 87th Precent series by Ed McBain (Evan Hunter). In a bit less gritty style, this is one I can compare to them, in a positive context.
Thank you for making this available for review. I enjoyed it.

Good book, no good reader.
I dont mind this book at all! It is really good, Daniela Acitelli is not so good. She ALMOST destroyed my enjoyment of this book. I really think Daniela Acitelli should stay away form reading audiobooks. There it is! Ellen Kirschman made a really good book, and i feel the story in the book is a 4 out of 5 star book, shame she did not get someone else to read it.
I got this for free for a honest review, and sometimes that is hard. Daniela Acitelli made it even more hard for me. That is how bad it was!

I really enjoyed this audio book! In the beginning I didn't really like the narrator, it felt like she was just reading with no real character! It felt all the sentences were running together. Once she quit that and got into the toll of each character I was hooked! I recommend this audiobook... if you can hang in there! The story is awesome! It gives you glimpse into a police officers roll and the issues they deal with. It touches a couple of different issues in society such as racism and sexism.

Good book, terrible narration
I found the concept for this book incredibly engaging the story idea had me very very interested. I loved the way that they book was laid out and the characters were written, I found myself truly engaged with the characters. However I could not get past the narrator, it felt as if she was over enunciating every word. It was also as if she were talking down to me not engaging me in the story. I would have enjoyed this book much more if someone else would have narrated it. I received this at no cost to me for a honest review.

Very interesting and easy to follow
I found this to be a very good mystery. It moved right along which was appropriate for this type of writing. The first hand character voice from a psychologist's perspective was great. She was intelligent and human (i.e. had baggage).
Daniela Acitelli's voice was very professional and easy on the ears. However, I prefer the narrator to be more subtle. Ms Acitelli tended to give away plot lines and force the listener to like or dislike (or find extremely dumb) a character. In particular the Christian Science character. C.S. is not my thing, but I do have friends who are and they are very intelligent. I never hear them or anyone in a service spout the 'come to Jesus' stuff. This, of course, also faults the author but if the narrator had been neutral with the tone it would have gone a lot further in my mind.
Other than that I really liked this novel and eagerly listened to it at every opportunity. I would definitely listen to more of both the author's work and Daniela Acitelli's work.
I was gifted this book in exchange for an honest review.
