It's been seven years since Chelsea Martin embarked on her yearlong postcollege European adventure. Since then, she's lost her mother to cancer and watched her sister marry twice, while Chelsea has become one of the most talented fundraisers for the American Cancer Coalition, and with the exception of one annoyingly competent coworker, Jason, her status as most successful moneymaker is unquestioned. Publisher's summary
On the evening of her twenty-second wedding anniversary, Katherine Price can't wait to celebrate. But instead of receiving an anniversary card from her husband, she finds a note asking for a divorce.
Fifty-five and suddenly alone, Katherine begins the daunting task of starting over. She has her friends, her aging mother, and her career to occupy her, but the future seems to hold little promise - until, after a winter of heartbreak, Katherine is persuaded to try a home exchange holiday in the South of France.
In Provence, bright fields of flowers bloom below medieval hilltop villages with winding cobblestone streets. Charmed by the picturesque countryside, the breathtaking Côte d'Azur, and the enchantment-filled boulevards of Paris, Katherine feels life opening up once again. Lavender perfumes the air, and chance encounters hint at romance and passion. But memories of heartbreak and betrayal linger - and her former life waits for her back home. Can she find the courage to begin again?

The Trees is the story of an American family in the wilderness - a family that "followed the woods as some families follow the sea." The time is the end of the 18th century, the wilderness is the land west of the Alleghenies and north of the Ohio River. But principally, The Trees is the story of a girl named Sayward, eldest daughter of Worth and Jary Luckett, raised in the forest far from the rest of humankind, yet growing to realize that the way of the hunter must cede to the way of the tiller of soil.

The Promise of Provence
3½ ⭐ rounded up to 4 ⭐
I liked this audio recording. Her descriptions of France 🇫🇷 were great. You really felt like you were there. I didn't realize that it was a series. And that the epilogue was a teaser for the 2nd book.
About a woman that has been married for 22 years and her husband leaves her a note on their 22nd anniversary that he wants a divorce because he has fallen in love with someone else and she is pregnant. The woman is devastated, she is about 55. She decides to do a house share and goes to Provence.
She lost the ½ ⭐ because of the teaser. Most series don't have and don't need a teaser. Annoyed me.

Her life story
I can't remember enjoying a book, but feeling it went on and on? It seemed as if she went through a crises, it was settled, and then we went through another and, then something new popped up.
I did enjoy the story, and the characters were fully fleshed out. What happened and how she met and grew and solved her problems were interesting. The description of the travels was enjoyable. I bought the next book. lol well see if I still feel the same.

Lovely story. Terrible accents
The story was delightful. Nicely developed characters and beautiful descriptions. The reader should stick to English only. Her French accent was terrible and she mispronounced many words. Her Australian accent was so bad I almost stopped listening.

Perfect escape
I loved this book! The vivid imagery created with Patricia’s words transported me to the south of France. Planning my vacation now

French pronunciation is awful!
The story was certainly not surprising or deep, but it was cute and what i expected, with romantic descriptions of France. I liked that the protagonist was older. The narration was disappointing, though. While I didn’t care for her voice much and didn’t really connect to the book through it, it was the unbelievably bad French pronunciation that did me in.
