Story
Searching for her roots, American CEO Holly visits Scotland. An ancient ash isn't the kind of family tree she had in mind. But when she touches a golden spindle carved into its rough bark, she is sucked through time to the ninth century—and captured in a Viking raid. Warrior Einar Birgirsson rescues the beautiful stranger. But to claim his place as jarl, he must rid the Orkney Islands of outlaws and take a wife within two moons. He will set her free—if she agrees to marry him.

Story
When a salvage job on an old battlefield goes awry, Kril's left with no crew, no food, a suspiciously absent client, and far too many enemies. Fortunately, it's a big universe, and he's got a fast ship and the best pilot in twenty light-years to watch his back. His journey to keep 'er flying and get a crew back together will take him from rescue operations in collapsing freighters to fighting dinosaurs in the sewage canals of pirate paradises and to points beyond. The odds are stacked against him, but Kril keeps it simple.

Great story
I have now listened to all three of Marie Brennans books in this story arc and I have to say that this is my favorite out of the three. A good conclusion to these characters story arc. I hope this isn’t the last we’ll see of them.
