Story
Conrad Nomikos has a long, rich personal history that he'd rather not talk about. And, as Arts Commissioner, he's been given a job he'd rather not do. Escorting an alien grandee on a guided tour of the shattered remains of Earth is not something he relishes—especially when it is apparent that this places him at the center of high-level intrigue that has some bearing on the future of Earth itself!

Story
From Publishers Weekly Fans of the late Roger Zelazny's popular Amber series should flock to this workmanlike, authorized prequel, the first of a projected trilogy, by Betancourt (Infection and three other Star Trek novels). In the realm of Chaos, Obere is as handy with his sword as with his sweethearts, serving the king of an outlying world. He is innocent of the magic that rules in his universe until he...

Hell Tanner isn't the sort of guy you'd mistake for a hero: he's a fast-driving car thief, a smuggler, and a stone-cold killer. Facing life in prison for his various crimes, he's given a choice: Rot away his remaining years in a tiny jail cell or drive cross-country and deliver a case of antiserum to the plague-ridden people of Boston, Massachusetts.

Story
An ‘ordinary’ fourteen year-old, James Wiley has lost his scientist father to a parallel world in the darkbands. With the help of Becky, his sister with magic powers, Barry the exchange student and Uncle George, the werewolf, James goes in search of his parent. But he must take care: for if there just happens to be a full moon at the wrong moment, James’s itchy palms might lead him into trouble. . . The Millennium books are novels for older readers from the very best science fiction and fantasy writers.

And don't mistake this mission of mercy for any kind of normal road trip-not when there are radioactive storms, hordes of carnivorous beasts, and giant, mutated scorpions to ...

The emotionless voice of the virtual reader.
I am a big fan of most of Roger Zelazny's work. Unfortunately, the emotionless voice of a virtual reader greatly detracted from my enjoyment of stories. I doubt I shall ever buy another book that uses a virtual reader. Many of the words were mispronounced because they were read by a machine that doesn't actually speak English. It merely sounds out the words based on the letters, rather than the actual meanings of the words. I have multiple copies of stories by the same author, read by different people. The reader can make or break a book. Trying to save money by using a virtual reader is a losing proposition. Hire a human reader with a human voice, not a virtual reader with a machine voice.
