Interesting book. Nice plot twists.
Really had me wondering where the line is between wrong and right

He's a Different Kind of Hero

So, we've all heard about the hero, the alpha hero, and the anti-hero. Well, none of those really describe what the main character Shepard has going on here. He's more like a beta hero. He's so not a normal hero that it's easy to underestimate him. I'm pretty sure that's his superpower.

Shepard is a former prosecutor who was injured in a courtroom when the defendant attacked him from behind, damaging his spinal cord severely and leaving him reliant on a cane. He's not completely adjusted to his new lifestyle, but he's giving it a half-hearted attempt. Billie Gray is a sheriff, good friend, and ally of Shepard. She's a good friend to have. Together, they're a pure force and great entertainment.

This plot goes at the speed of light and has the twists of a steep mountain road. The protagonist is seriously creepy and menacing- he's the type that really gets under your skin and stays there. Fans of thrillers, suspense reads, and especially psychological thrillers will appreciate this one.

Good storyline with a complexed enough storyline that seem believe. would absolutely read again

Not my favorite Methos book. This one missed some important wrapup information needed, and there was just a little bit too much going on with the bad guy.

Quite a story

Victor Methos always does a great job with his stories and this one’s no exception. The villain in the story is something that would be out of someone’s nightmares! The description alone, as well as his size makes you want to run. The protagonist who is the prosecuting attorney Shepard, who is quite a unique character, had worked to put this man in jail 11 years prior. Now
the guy is out for revenge. How old is revenge is orchestrated and played out makes for the tension in this thriller! Don’t miss out on this one!!

Great series!

This is such a great series and I can’t wait for the next book! Victor Methos is such a brilliant writer!

I like this series

The second book in the Shepard & Gray Series where Solomon Shephard is a prosecuting attorney recovering from the deadly courtroom attack that almost ended his career and Billie Gray a sheriff who he teamed up with in the first edition.

Felon, Alonso Hafeez is out of prison after eleven years believing he was wrongly incarcerated after convicted of a crime he didn't commit at the hands of Shephard. He kidnaps Solomon and engages an elaborate to re - create the trial, hell - bent on proving his innocence.

I enjoy Victor Methos' book and enjoyed the first book in this series but found there was a lot of violence in this edition.

story as it evolved from the first book and gripped my attention thru the twists and excitement

excitement, captivating, loved the story behind the criminal , the characters continued from first book, the romance between Solomon and Giselle even w out dirty talk! loved it!

Strange, pointless plot

I only finished this book because I love this author. I kept waiting for it to get better, it did not.

Great story!

I love Victor Methos! He has become one of my top 5 favorite authors and this book was no exception, awesome story, interesting characters and a bad guy with a lot of personality! Can’t wait for the next one!
