Publisher's summary
A NEW TWIST TO TIME TRAVEL
A desperate girl
A faulty time machine
A paradox waiting to happen ...
Seventeen-year-old Laken Mitchell thinks using her parents’ time machine to send abused girls to the last century will make their lives easier. And it does, until dead bodies start turning up.
Laken convinces her best friend Skylar to time travel with her to 1994 so they can rescue one of her “victims.” When the girl dies as soon as they awaken in 2020, Laken and Skylar time travel back to un-rescue her, but that creates a paradox.
Laken returns alone to an aftereffect she couldn’t have imagined. If she tries to change the past one more time either she or her best friend may cease to exist.
Edgy but clean, fast-paced but easy to read, this is a stand-alone novel that delivers a mind-blowing quest and a remarkable race against time. THE GIRL IN THE TIME MACHINE is a gem among indie books.

Story
What if immersive gaming holds the key to interstellar travel? Earth is preparing to launch its first interstellar colony ship, but volunteers for a ten year one-way trip in isolation, most of it to be spent in virtual reality pods, are few and far between. For most the choice is to remain in a dystopian society where the work is done by robots and the thinking by computers. Game Ship is a mashup of hard SciFi, gamelit, and a dystopian future. Although the idea was inspired by LitRPG, it does not include a character progression of leveling up in a fantasy world, and most of the story takes ...

Not sure why the only other review is so low…
Performance was okay, not the same as listening to an actual narrator.
Story was interesting, I just wish there were additional novels to finish the story.

Confusing Waste of Time
I typically enjoy books about time travel, but I found this to be way too confusing and kind of ridiculous. The virtual voice narration is horrible.
